IMPORTANT: For 2026 we will be running under the British Riding Club rules which allow the discreet use of the voice and nosebands are not compulsory. To see the full set of rules, please visit - https://www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/brc-handbook/
Please also note that for the PRELIM tests, we will be running a combination of the 2024 BD tests and the older (pre‑2024) versions. Competitors should ensure they check the year of the test when entering.
We are a low key venue that is particularly welcoming to those just starting out / getting back in to dressage / competing. Lead reins are welcome in the Intro tests.
Intro classes are split Junior / Seniors. Please note the Juniors section may include any Lead Reins, therefore if the rider is a Junior and would prefer to be judged as a Senior they may enter the Senior section.
Due to limited staff, we are not able to provide a reader for competitors. Should you wish to have your test read please work with another competitor or bring someone with you.
Times will be published on the Friday before the event both on here and on the Appleton Grange Riding Club Facebook page.
Cancellation Policy: Withdrawals made prior to entries closing will be refunded. No entry fees will be refunded after entries have closed unless the event is cancelled by Appleton Grange.

QUALIFIERS.
This show is a qualifier for The Sunshine Tour Championships held at The All-England Showground, Hickstead from 17th to 20th September 2026. Top 3 placed in each class are eligible. Please visit www.sunshinetour.co.uk for more information and to register and submit evidence of results.
Coloured Horses & Ponies scoring over 60% can use this towards qualification of the 2026 CHAPS (UK) Dressage Championships to be held from 20th to 22nd August 2026 at Arena UK (2 scores of over 60% required for qualification). Please see chapsuk.com for more information or contact ourselves.
If you wish to gain points for the Appleton Grange RC dressage series (running from January to June 2026) you must be a member of the Appleton Grange Riding Club. Points are awarded for the same horse/rider combination in each class (you can compete on more than one horse in a class).
Rules for the AGRC Members championship:
Novice and Elementary tests are not eligible for the championship. Members must have competed a minimum of two times to qualify. Members who have won the Championship at a particular level two times may still compete at that same level, but are not eligible to qualify for the championship. E.g. if you have won the Intro Championship twice, you will only be eligible to qualify for the Prelim Championship.
