SPRING HALL HOBBY HORSE COMPETITION including Cross Country, a Jumping lane and the last of the Show Jumping Leagues!
Please come and join us on 20th September 2025 for our last cross country event of the year.
It is also the last event which goes towards the Show Jumping Leagues!! Lots of points still to play for and lots of great prizes - trophies, sashes, rosettes, bridle charms, pony creative bits . . . . . .
It will be a fun family day of hobby horsing around with your fellow hobby horse enthusiasts in a friendly and encouraging environment
We have lots of classes to suit all ages and abilities.
Pre booking of classes is essential – although extra classes maybe added on the day depending on numbers.
Classes booked on the day will be charged at full price, with no 3rd class discounts which is applied to pre entries
Bring your own hobby horse or you can loan one of ours
The show will be run in our outdoor cross country field with our jumps with special lightweight hobby horse poles. We have special cross country classes which will include our banks, coffin and sandpit!!
This will be our last outside/cross country event of the year
Plenty of parking
There isn't an on site caterer so please bring food/drink
There will be complementary hot drinks and biscuits
We will be selling the lovely Buckberry Hobby Horses again as well as Crafty Pony Hobby Horses and accessories
Pony Creative will be joining us - with their fantastic books, learning resources etc
No dogs please – unless assistance dogs
No refunds will be given unless we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances
However if the weather is looking grim - will we move into the Indoor School and adapt the classes accordingly

Schedule:
Class 1 - 20cm (split into 7 and unders and 8 and overs)
Class 2 - 30cm
Class 3 - 40cm
Class 4 - 40cm Pairs
Class 5 - 50cm
Class 6 - 60cm
Class 7 - 70cm
Class 8 – Jumping Lane ****NEW****
Class 9 - Chase Me Charlie - split into 8 and under and 9 and overs
Class 10 – Freestyle Dressage
Class 11 - Cross Country Clear Round - Singles or pairs - 30cm then 50cm
Class 12 - Cross Country Timed - 30cm then 50cm
League Presentations
Check in is from 9.30am in our Cross Country Field – come and sign in, say Hello, and be issued with your number
Then head over to the practice ring to warm up
Classes aim to start from 10am
I ll email after entries close on 15th August with further information and probable timings etc
Class Information:
Classes 1-7 will be run as clear rounds first – and if you go clear – you go into a timed jump off (all will be explained on the day!)
Class 8 – Jumping Lane – a lane of 8-10 jumps – at height suited to participant. Can have 1-2 practices then a proper go
Class 9 – Chase Me Charlie – a single jump which keeps getting higher . . . . .
Classes 10 – Freestyle Dressage – chose your music and perform in our 7m x 14m dressage arena.
Class 11 - Cross Country Clear Round jumping – On your own or as a pair. 30cm then 50cm
Class 12 – Cross Country Timed, 30cm then 50cm
Prizes -
Classes 1 - 7 and 12 - Rosettes for 1st -> 10th and Well Done rosettes for all
Class 8 – Jumping Lane keyring
Class 9 - Medals for 1st -> 4rd, and Well Done rosettes for all
Class 10 – Dressage rosettes and Certificates
Class 11 - Clear round rosettes
Classes against the clock will be run with a digital timer that is viewable to avoid any disagreements and give every competitor the same chance.
Free to spectate
£10 per round, with discount for multiple rounds - every 3rd round half price when pre-entering!
For the pairs it’s £10 per child
Loan of a hobby horse - £5 – limited number available
