***JUNIOR RIDERS ARE JUMPING IN THE MAIN RING AT THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW GROUND***
ENTRIES ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE NORTHERN SHOW CROSS at the COUNTRYSIDE LIVE 2019
JUMP IN THE MAIN RING AT THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOWGROUND
THIS YEAR 2 INTER TEAM RELAY EVENTS ON OFFER
70cm (in the morning) & 80cm (after lunch)
with NO QUALIFICATION NEEDED and teams can enter both heights and riders can ride in more than one team.
£300 to EACH winning team, plus £150 to EACH Reserve Champion team,
And £75 to each 3rd placed team!
Plus ‘Donnas’ Special Championship Rosettes & Sashes

JUNIOR TEAM RULES:
Juniors classed as 16 years and under at 1st April 2019
Over SJ rustic and XC fences. No baton or whip changing.
Scored on OVERALL time - collective time for all 3 riders. Any knock downs - 5 seconds to add.
Last fence of the whole course will have an alternative - the Northern Show Cross JOKER.
Attempt the Joker successfully and we will deduct 10 seconds from the overall team time.
Attempt the Joke unsuccessfully and we will add 10 seconds.
Each team member can jump the Joker if they wish so you could deduct 30 seconds!
If anyone has a problem, the next team rider can complete that round and then continue to do their own so every team gets a score. TEAM WORK! Each Chef de Quipe may go in the ring with their team.
ENTRY FEE £25 per rider. - 3 RIDERS PER TEAM.
Riders can ride in more than one team. Teams may enter both heights if they wish.
BSI approved standard hats and body protectors must be worn.
All entries must be paid 14 days prior to their class. In the unlikely event of show cancellation we will refund 75% of monies paid.
Let us know any requirements you have regarding travelling etc and we will try to accommodate you. Stabling is available at the Great Yorkshire Showground, please contact direct on 01423 541000
We hope Riding Clubs, Pony Clubs and Hunts will support us and give the day a true Country Side feel. Its going to be a fantastic weekend for all our NORTHERN SHOW CROSS RIDERS and a great spectacle for the grandstand viewers.
Please be aware of the GYS/CLS regulation that also applies to Show Cross entrants:
GYS & CLS have a regulation re rider weights: Equine Welfare is of paramount importance and all riders should be of an appropriate size and weight for the horse/pony being ridden (anywhere on the showground, exercise areas or vehicle parks, day or night). The Society reserves the right to take further action (See Disqualifications, Sanctions and Exclusion Orders) against any competitor or exhibitor whose animal is being ridden (anywhere on the showground, exercise areas or vehicle parks, day or night) by anyone whose size or weight compromises the welfare of the horse/pony being ridden; this would be based on the recommendations of the on-site veterinary team, who will use the 20% ratio as a guideline (this means the combined weight of rider plus their saddle should be less than 20% of their animal’s weight). This would be based on a relatively fit, healthy animal as an overweight animal is also a welfare concern.
